Dell Inspiron 1525 review

Slimmed-down design; low starting price; high-end extras are available, including HDMI and touch-sensitive media control buttons.
The bad:
Not as many configuration options as some of Dell’s other laptops; plastic construction feels somewhat flimsy; base $499 configuration about as powerful as an abacus.
The bottom line:
Taking consumer complaints to heart, Dell updates its mainstream 15-inch laptop with the Dell Inspiron 1525 battery
. It’s thinner, lighter, and less expensive than its predecessor and the short battery life as well.
Battery Life:
The 6-cell 56WHr Li-Ion Dell Latitude D600 battery
provides excellent battery life for the 1525. With Vista’s power management running in “high performance” mode, screen brightness set to maximum and wireless on, the 6-cell Dell Latitude D820 battery
delivered 2 hours and 53 minutes of battery life. We’re certain that the 6-cell could deliver three and a half hours of life with the notebook set to “balanced” or “power saver” mode and the screen brightness turned down.
There is also an available 9-cell 85WHr Li-Ion Dell Inspiron 1525 Battery for those users needing extended battery life. One thing to mention is that with the 9-cell battery in you get an overall larger dimension for the notebook as the 9-cell Dell Inspiron 6000 battery
sticks out of the back of the notebook.
